...to be "successful" in life!
I came across the following article on the net. I found it hilarious at the same time thought provoking. I couldn't trace the author. But I thought I should share this with my friends and readers.Hope you will like it.
Who says cars do not have a meaning!
BMW - Brings Me Woman
FIAT - Failure in Italian Automotive Technology
FORD For Only Rough Drivers
HYUNDAI - Hope You Understand Nothing's Drivable And Inexpensive. ...
VOLVO - Very Odd Looking Vehicular Object
PORSCHE - Proof Of Rich Spoiled Children Having Everything
KIA - Kills In Accidents
OPEL - Old People Enjoying Life
TOYOTA - The One You Only Trust, Always
GOLF/GTI - Girls Only Love Fun / Get Them Inside
HONDA - Hanged Over, Now Driving Awayends
Its very heart breaking to see that nowadays people's worth is determined by the car they drive, the clothes they wear and the place they live. Most of the people that I come across can hardly talk sense for two minutes. By sense I mean something that would make the audience think before making a comment. Most of them are rarely bothered by what is happening around them. The other day I asked one of my friend his opinion on the "Maoists fiasco". All that he managed was "huh...ummm..wait let me get a fag.". This is one of the several examples that I witness everyday. When Sudha Murty writes about her experiences in 'Wise and Otherwise' and 'The Old Man and His God' , the readers are awed by the stories. Well I can relate most of the incidents mentioned in the books with my life.
All I can do is hope for things to improve for the better. Maybe a day will come when girls will start talking beyond designer clothes and boys will start dreaming beyond big cars- boys toys you knonw!

Dear Partha
When I saw the first part of this blogpost I thought that post will be just some distortions of the names of some famous car manufacturers!
As I scrolled down, I was surprised to see that your heart was broken due to the fact that the earth is largely inhabited by people with thoroughly confused priorities...
In case you haven't noticed that, so it has been the case from time immemorial!
The "educated" just limit themselves to a particular genre of books (if they read at all!) and have diffculties spelling Mozart(I have lurking suspicion that they might not even know who he is!)!
And it's really not done to expect other's to see beyond boys-toys and designer toys when one himself is all gaga on Yyes Saint Laurent, Guy Laroche, Tommy Hilfiger, HTC mobiles and never misses the chance to let others see the ipod peeking from the hip pocket...
Lastly, I liked the post. A real brave effort pal.
Dear Partha
A small correction.
They show a warning on your blog that comments in sms text won't be accepted. Below that you have apologised for the "inconvinience".
Care to find out the correct spelling?
Take care.
I am glad that you liked the post. Thank you for pointing out the error.
I would like to confess here that for a certain time these hot shot and costly cars wooed me like anything. I used to dream of a day when one such car would be in my garage and I would drive to my office and show off to my colleagues and girls would fall all over me!
I had the chance to experience how absurd my hopes were! My dad had one such car. I took it out to see whether my plans really worked. It did. Some girls with nothing called brain hero worshipped me! But I was amazed to see that the girl that I had fallen for never even bothered about my car and when approached for a date, asked me if I read!
Ofcourse I did read. But that was hardly the criteria to date a girl! I thought she was a weirdo. But after being with her for 4 years I realised, she is just a little different. Now I know how hollow and base my fantasies were.
Now I dream of owning rare books and not worthless cars! The people who are gaga on cars and their equally car gaga wives or girlfriends, have my wishes to lead the most hooded and false life!
Glad you and your girlfriend are not one such pair brother!
Zico.
Dear Partha,
I think I understood who Titli was talking about in her comment!
I saw you photo with Anne in orkut and YOUR "Yves Saint Laurent" shirt was looking good on you!
Don't me mad at me!
Zee.
